    The Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Fouad Hussein, today, Wednesday, an invitation to the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Rome, Gilbert Longbo, to visit Iraq and see the Iraqi agricultural reality and diagnose Iraq's needs to achieve agricultural development.
    [size=45]Hussein met the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Rome, Gilbert Wangbo, and during the meeting they discussed prospects for cooperation between Iraq and the International Fund for Agricultural Development in a way that contributes to developing the agricultural sector in Iraq and benefiting from the expertise and capabilities of the Fund in developing this field and the possibility of opening an office for the Fund in Iraq in particular. In light of the Iraqi government's tendency to support the agricultural sector as one of the important economic sectors, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.[/size]
    [size=45]Hussein stressed the "continuous negotiations with neighboring countries, Turkey and Iran, regarding the water quotas for Iraq."[/size]
    [size=45]He also called Hussein, Angbo, to visit Iraq and learn about the Iraqi agricultural reality and diagnose Iraq's needs to achieve agricultural development.[/size]
    [size=45]He also touched on "the need to develop the skills and capabilities of Iraqi agricultural specialists in the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, through the Fund’s setting up of courses for them to help them build the necessary capacities to achieve agricultural development in cooperation with UN organizations and agencies in Rome (IFAD, FAO, WFP)."[/size]
    [size=45]The meeting was attended by Safia Al-Suhail, Iraq's ambassador to Rome, and Dina Saleh, IFAD's Regional Director for the Near East and North Africa.[/size]
