     Baghdad: Omar Abdul Latif

Riyadh Al-Masoudi, a member of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee from the “Sairoun” coalition, said that Iraq emerged about 40 years ago from the global education quality classification, which created a time difference between Iraq and the rest of the countries, revealing that “there are no plans for the Ministry of Education to pay attention to this matter, as it is You need laws and funds for scientific research, developing the capabilities of professors, and building appropriate laboratories.
He added, "There are about 300 criteria that countries apply to enter their universities within the international rankings, including the number of students who married female students, how many students use bicycles to roam at the university, the number of those who attend forums, the number of users of the virtual library to write scientific research, and do the cafeteria and gardens fit the student atmosphere?" ».
For his part, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Haider Al-Aboudi, said: The Iraqi public and private universities have recorded positive results in the global rankings, as thirty-five universities were in the TIMES classification, three universities in the TIMES classification, five universities in the QS classification, and nine universities. Seventy universities in webometrics, fifty-two universities in the RUR ranking, sixty-one universities in the Green Metrics, four universities in the URAP ranking, and twenty-two universities in the Scimago ranking. ”
