Parliamentary Finance: Kadhimi government works to complete 2022 budget before elections

The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced Tuesday that the Ministry of Finance is moving to prepare the 2022 budget bill, while noting that the government is working to complete the budget before the elections.
"There is a move by the Ministry of Finance to prepare the 2022 budget bill, for the purpose of which a subcommittee of members of the House of Representatives has been formed for the purpose of discussing and following up on the process of the numbers of the law," committee member Jamal Koger told Shafq News.
"The government of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi is in charge of preparing the budget law and sending it to the House of Representatives in accordance with the Financial Management Act, to be prepared in May and completed in early October, ahead of the parliamentary elections," he said.
"If the elections are held on time, it is the members of the next session of the House of Representatives who are working to read, discuss and vote on the budget law for 2022," Cougar said.
