Committee member Hussein Al-Oqabi said, according to the official agency, that "regarding the amendment of the election law and the biometric issue, the committee continues to affirm and press for the amendment of the election law, and the time is sufficient for that," indicating that "this will not affect the election date at all."
"There are four months or more, and the biometric registration can continue and reach acceptable levels, and it may reach more than 85%, and in some governorates it has reached 70%," Al-Oqabi added.
He stressed, "the necessity to limit voting to the biometric card, but this needs to be amended to the election law, because the law gives the right to vote for the regular electronic card and the biometric card," explaining that "the regular card can be sold, bought and traded, and the possibility of violating the law and fraud in it is high in light of double voting rights." ".
