    The Aegean Fruit, Vegetable and Fresh Products Exporters Association announced, on Monday, that Iraq first imported “ketchup sauce” from Turkey during the year 2020.
     
    "Turkey exported tomato sauces and ketchup to 114 countries over the past year, 2020, with a financial value of $ 19 million," the association’s president, Khairuddin Ojak, said in a report.
     
    He added that "Iraq first imported tomato products from ketchup sauce with a financial value of 7 million dollars, an increase of 23 percent over the previous year," noting that "Turkey has made progress in its exports of ketchup sauce products to Spain by 16 percent and to the UAE by 16 percent." 41 percent and to China 138 percent. "
     
    He pointed out that “Turkey was able to export frozen tomatoes in 2020, to 27 countries with a value of 32 million dollars,” indicating that “the United Kingdom ranked first with five million dollars, while Belgium and Italy were among the countries that have increased their import of this product in years.     It is noteworthy that Iraq depends on importing most of the goods and goods from neighboring countries, especially Iran and Turkey, due to its lack of factories that compete with the foreign product.
