{Economic: Al Furat News} The director of the Ishtar factory affiliated with the General Company for Light Industries in the Ministry of Industry, Walid Jabr Salman, revealed that there are negotiations with the General Electric Company to produce local "spalt".
The company was able to return the (Ashtar brand) to the market strongly within a short period, which includes refrigerators, models, freezers, cookers, heaters and other products.
Salman said, in a press statement, that "negotiations are continuing with the world's energy giant, General Electric, to produce local (spalt) through new production lines, and to grant the company a complete factory equipped with machines and technicians," noting that "the production of this device will be 40 percent. In purely Iraqi hands, while the rest of the supervision, standardization and quality control will be the responsibility of the company.
He added, "There are new production lines for freezers that will soon be put on the market, with new shapes and designs that compete with the existing international brands."
And Salman indicated that "national factories are able to meet the Iraqi market's need for electrical materials if there are guarantees to protect the product," stressing that "this work will motivate other merchants to open factories for light electrical materials."
