    {Local: Al Furat News} The Media and Communications Commission announced, on Tuesday, that it is in the process of signing a memorandum of understanding with the Russian Ministry of Digital Development.

    A member of the Commission’s Board of Commissioners, Abdul Azim Muhammad Salih, said in a statement that {Al-Furat News} received a copy of it: “The memorandum of understanding proposed by the Russian side and to be signed Between our authority and the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Media in the Russian Federation, it was revised in accordance with the Treaty Law No. 35 of 2015, and communications with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
    He explained that: "According to previous memoranda and meetings between the two parties, and after review and consultation, the information technology sector was added to the media and communications sectors within the memorandum of understanding, because the Media and Communications Authority is responsible for regulating these vital sectors."
    And Saleh indicated that: "a later meeting will be held early next week to complete the discussions on the proposed memoranda, and the agreement and memoranda of understanding will be signed in the Russian capital, Moscow, in the near future."
    It is noteworthy that a series of meetings and deliberations took place in the previous period between Iraq and Russia, in which the Iraqi delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister for International Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein, and on the Russian side, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yury Borisov, in order to sign memoranda of understanding in various fields and sectors that came in the white paper. Presented by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and entered into force.
