The Parliamentary Finance Committee decided to host the Deputy Minister of Planning regarding increasing revenues in various sectors, and the Chief of Staff of the Army to discuss financial matters related to the work of the ministry.
The committee stressed, during its regular meeting today, Monday, to discuss non-oil revenues, the necessity of having a representative attend all meetings of other parliamentary committees to express an opinion on joint laws, as it is a supporting committee in legislating those laws.
The committee also decided to conduct a field visit to the Kurdistan Region and the ports to follow up on the related supervisory procedures and prepare a report on that.
The committee discussed a number of important laws, including the Unified Retirement Law and the Personnel Law, with the possibility of amending laws such as the Central Bank Law and the Banking Law. It also discussed the possibility of legislating a special law on collection and taxation for all economic sectors or including them in the Economic Reform Law.
The committee also discussed a proposal to establish a sovereign fund for the country, and to form a parliamentary team to review government procedures related to revenues and estimate financial returns according to spending units.
