{Economic: Al Furat News} Oil prices fell on Wednesday, as industry data indicated a significant increase in crude oil inventories and distillates in the United States, in the world's largest oil consumer, and with mounting pressure on OPEC to increase supplies.
Brent crude futures fell 71 cents, or 0.9 percent, to $84.00 a barrel by 04:50 GMT, after falling to $83.27 a barrel earlier.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell $1.10, or 1.3%, to $82.81 a barrel, after falling to $82.26 earlier.
The American Petroleum Institute announced the sixth consecutive week of increased crude oil inventories, and with the Biden administration exhausting every potential appeal to OPEC+ members before tapping into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
President Joe Biden, speaking at the climate summit in Glasgow, blamed higher oil and gas prices on the refusal of OPEC nations to pump more crude.
OPEC+ meets on Thursday to review its policy and is expected to reaffirm plans for monthly increases.
The data showed that crude stocks rose 3.6 million barrels for the week ending October 29.
Gasoline stocks fell by 552,000 barrels and distillate stocks rose by 573,000 barrels.
