    The General Company for the Automotive and Equipment Industry, one of the companies of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, announced, on Sunday, the production of Chinese BAIC cars with modern specifications.
    The director of the Automobile and Specialized Equipment Factory, Nahed Rashid Al-Salihi, said in a statement that the new BAIC cars carry modern specifications and are equipped with all safety and security conditions, and are subject to inspection and quality control processes, and are witnessing demand and desire in the Iraqi market and demand from citizens, noting that “the cadres of The company of engineers and technicians completed, with self-efforts, the assembly and production of the first batch of (120) cars, of which (80) cars are ready and (40) others are in the process of being tested.”
    He added that "work is ongoing to assemble and produce the second batch of (120) cars, and the other batches will be based on the capabilities of the company's cadres with experience and training in assembling various types of cars," explaining that "the assembly and production line of cars consists of (30) assembly stations and ( 6) Major examination stations by specialized and trained examiners for this work.
    Al-Salihi stressed that “the new BAIC cars operate with a highly efficient engine, and that the specifications of the engine and gearbox are similar to the engine specifications of Japanese Mitsubishi cars.” With a one-year warranty to maintain and repair the car for a technical or manufacturing defect through the company’s maintenance workshops in the governorates of Baghdad, Holy Karbala, Najaf and Basra.
    He pointed out, "The company continues to produce Peugeot and Saipa cars with modern specifications, with a total of (20) Peugeot cars and (18) Saipa cars daily, and they are offered for sale at reasonable prices in cash and in installments, with a one-year guarantee." finished/25
