Saving a homeland talks about dissolving Parliament: the last solution and we have the majority to pass it

Baghdad/ Firas Adnan
The Alliance to Save a Homeland alludes to the option of dissolving Parliament and holding early elections as the last option in the case of the political impasse, stressing that it has the appropriate majority that enables it to take the decision, which he described as difficult, but he talked about his intention to resume the work of Parliament after the deadline for the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to pressure his opponents to attend. to the sessions and then complete the quorum related to the election of the President of the Republic and the formation of the government.
But the coordinating framework is also playing on the time factor, and he believed that this would guarantee a recalculation and a move away from what he described as the exclusion of influential political forces, and the preservation of the traditional ways of managing the state in reference to consociationalism.
Member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Majid Shankali, said that "many initiatives have been put forward during the past period to end the political impasse."
Shankali added, "The first initiatives were put forward by the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, through a delegation visit to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr. It is very different from its predecessor.”
He pointed out, "The Alliance to Save a Homeland, which brings us together with the Sadrist movement and the Sovereignty bloc, will have a unified position on any initiative that is put forward."
Shankali stressed that "everyone is working to find a way out of the political impasse that we are experiencing at the present time, and solutions must be reached in any way."
He went on, "One of the solutions on the table is to dissolve Parliament and return again to early elections," noting that "the Alliance to Save a Nation has the largest number of deputies, and it may discuss this scenario, which is considered the most difficult and dangerous if the blockage continues."
And he finds, that “the dissolution of Parliament requires 165 deputies, while the Alliance to Save a Homeland has 170 deputies,” stressing that “the solution was not seriously proposed in the dialogues of the leaders of the coalition, but it was talked about by some politicians within the components of the Alliance to Save a Homeland as the last solution.” “.
He acknowledges, "the difficulty of holding early elections, even though they are the last options," pointing out that "the problem will arise for us regarding the law under which the elections will be held and the authority supervising the voting."
And Shankali added, "The serious dialogues in Ramadan can be described as very slow and have not reached tangible results until the present time."
He explained, "The executive authority cannot remain in this situation as it is deficient in powers, as the government is for the discharge of daily tasks, and the President of the Republic remains by a decision of the Federal Supreme Court for organizational purposes only."
Shankali stressed that "the caretaker government affects in one way and another the performance of the legislative authority in that it cannot send the draft budget law or proceed with the development of a new curriculum called for by the current stage, which requires finding political solutions that end in completing the selection of the rest of the presidencies."
He believed, "The biggest disagreement is within the Shiite political house. If there is some kind of consensus, we will go to Parliament and elect the President of the Republic according to the majority required by the Federal Supreme Court, which is the presence of at least 220 deputies, regardless of the number of candidates, and then the government is formed."
Shankali went on, "The deadline for the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, ends on the ninth of the month of Shawwal, according to which he froze the negotiations to form the government and gave the opportunity for the coordination framework to take the initiative, but after it ends, Parliament will reconvene, complete the parliamentary committees and carry out legislative tasks, and it will not be in front of the opponents." except to attend in order to achieve a quorum for the constitutional benefits related to the election of the President of the Republic and the formation of the government according to a satisfactory initiative.”
The coordination framework had held a meeting and the Azm Alliance and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan yesterday evening, which discussed what he described as a "road map" to end the political crisis, and called for the formation of a government by sitting at a dialogue table and making concessions.
A member of the State of Law coalition, Imran Karkoush, stated that "there are attempts to find some kind of agreement and consensus within the Kurdish political house regarding the candidate for the position of President of the Republic, and then the Sunni House, which is also witnessing differences between the Sovereignty Bloc and the Azm Alliance."
Karkoush continued, "The coordination framework is trying to exploit Al-Sadr's deadline in order to soften positions and reconsider some accounts, especially in light of the current circumstances at the internal and external levels."
He expected, "The coming days will witness a kind of political detente in order to proceed with the formation of a government according to what the Iraqi people want," stressing that "the quinquennial committee formed by the coordination framework continues its endeavors through dialogues, with the hope that it will reach results that can be disclosed soon."
And Karkush added, "The insistence on dividing the Shiite political house may stand behind it foreign agendas, especially since what the coalition to save a nation is proposing is still not acceptable to us until the present time," and carried them "the results of the political hiatus due to their adherence to their positions and lack of flexibility."
Karkoush concluded, "Efforts to exclude a particular party are incorrect, and it violates the traditional methods that the process of forming governments has gone through over the past years and cannot be accepted."
