Shafaq News/ The Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Iraqi parliament saw on Monday that targeting the Kurdistan Region with missile bombing aims to create an environment that expels investment in Iraq, stressing the need to coordinate security efforts to prevent "suspicious groups" from spreading chaos.
The bloc said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, "The file of targeting the Kurdistan Region with Katyusha missiles urgently needs deep coordination between Baghdad, Erbil and the international community, because whoever is behind these criminal acts wants to send messages to international investment companies that Iraq is an environment that expels investment, and thus achieves goals that did not and will not serve all Iraqis.”
She emphasized "finding radical solutions to bridge the gaps between the Iraqi security forces and the Peshmerga forces across the borders between the region and the adjacent Iraqi provinces, especially in areas that have witnessed recent criminal activity against the region and its infrastructure, in order to limit these attacks and prosecute those behind them."
She added, "There is a systematic and studied criminal series against the Kurdistan Region, where suspicious groups attack the infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region with Katyusha missiles in order to mix the cards and keep the country in a state of chaos and instability, because such groups are terrified of the rule of law and live on chaos and crises."
The Kurdistan Democratic bloc indicated that "those behind these cowardly acts are unable to provide services to the general Iraqi people, and for this reason they are angry because of the urban, civil, economic, cultural and civil development that the Kurdistan Region enjoys, as a result of the wise policy of its leadership, which was born from the womb of the suffering and struggle of the people." Yesterday, Sunday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, announced the internationalization of the file of repeated missile attacks on the Kurdistan Region, in the first reaction of its kind.
