[size=31]The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, called on the government, on Wednesday, to protect the security and social situation, and called on the demonstrators to immediately withdraw from the area and abide by the legal right to demonstrate.
He added, "Therefore, the government of brother Al-Kazemi must assume its constitutional responsibilities in protecting the security and social situation and avoiding bloodshed among Iraqis, and it will use legitimate means to deter any attack on the prestige of the state and its institutions."
Al-Maliki called on the demonstrators to "immediately withdraw from the area, abide by the legal right to demonstrate and not be drawn into calls for confrontation with the forces in charge of protection."
