The Independent High Electoral Commission denied on Sunday setting a date for early elections.
"The commission is a neutral professional institution that implements decisions issued regarding elections, referendums and other matters related to electoral work," said Jumana Al-Ghalai, spokeswoman for the High Commission.
And she added, "The Board of Commissioners is the supreme authority in the Electoral Commission, and it is concerned with setting the date or time period required to conduct any electoral process in consultation with the government based on the effective election law," noting that "the Board of Commissioners has not issued any decision or statement in this regard." .
Al-Ghalay stated, "With regard to the electoral budget, it usually has a special budget that may be with the federal budget or allocated individually, and this needs legislation, and that the possibility of holding elections or not, or whether they are ready or not, is up to the Board of Commissioners."
