The economic expert, Nabil Al-Marsoumi, considered that the workers' retirement law includes some "unfair" articles, calling for the need to equalize the amounts deducted with their counterparts for state employees.
Al-Marsoumi said in a post on Facebook that "the draft Social Security and Workers' Retirement Law, which Parliament completed its first reading, includes some articles that are unfair to workers and are not supportive of the private sector."
He explained that "Secondly Article 13 stipulates that 7% of the insured worker's wages and allowances shall be deducted from the retirement fund, after it was 5%, while 13% of the insured's salary and allowances shall be deducted by the employer."
He believed that “Parliament should have reduced the deduction rates from workers’ salaries to 2% and employers to 10%, and that the rentier state bears the difference as it does with state employees, as it deducts 5% of the salary from them, while the state pays a percentage to the employees’ retirement fund. 12% of the employees' salaries.
He stressed that "fairness requires that the deduction be from workers' wages only, and that their allocations are exempted from deduction, as is the case with state employees."
