Independent MP Mustafa Jabbar Sanad affirmed today, Tuesday, that the steps of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, in combating corruption are bold and excellent, while noting that the case of the theft of the century has not been closed.
Sanad said, to the official channel, followed by (Al-Oula News): “The steps of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ Al-Sudani, in the file of combating corruption are bold and excellent, and we hope for more from him,” stressing “the continuation of following up the file of corruption.”
He added, “The corruption file cannot reach zero or the end point, as it is continuous and days pass,” noting that “there are periods that come when our hands are the longest in striking corruption, and the war with it continues.”
Regarding the theft of the century, Sanad affirmed that “the case of the theft of the century has not been finally closed,” noting that “one of the three (mafia) parties has been arrested.”
He stressed that "the party who was arrested is considered the largest among the (mafia) and is currently out of custody," noting: "I am observing the case and all its details."
He pointed out that "300 billion dinars have been recovered, and the remainder of the total amount is one trillion and 300 billion."
He continued, "There are real estate within the theft of the century amounting to 500 billion dinars, and balances and shares in companies amounting to 300 billion dinars."
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani directed earlier, the Integrity Commission to form the Supreme Commission for Combating Corruption, with the aim of combating corruption, according to the ministerial curriculum, with unconventional mechanisms that go beyond previous negatives, and the media office of the Prime Minister stated that the Commission will accelerate the confrontation of major corruption files and recover Those wanted in cases of corruption and abused public funds.
