    [rtl]Baghdad-Iraq today:

Engineers employed by the Iraqi Ministry of Defense demonstrated in Tahrir Square in the capital, Baghdad, against the decision to transfer them to the Military Industrialization Authority.

Dozens of engineers gathered in the square in the center of the capital, to protest against the decision to relocate them, raising various slogans in denunciation of the decision.

Correspondents indicated that the majority of demonstrators hold postgraduate degrees and hold master's degrees in their fields of specialization, and they refuse to move from their positions in the Ministry of Defense, in which they have served for years, to the new positions allocated to them in thecommission.

The protesters believe that the orders for their transfer were politically motivated.

“We have been employed in the Ministry of Defense for three and a half years, and within a day and night we received an order to transfer us to the Military Industrialization Authority,” said Engineer Haider Majed, noting that “the body is affiliated with the Iraqi Council of Ministers and not the Ministry of Defense, and the transfer will affect our monthly income.”

While Engineer Ahmed Al-Ani, who works for the staff of the same ministry, indicated that "transferring an employee from one ministry to another requires a written approval from the employee himself, or an official request by him. We are ready to serve Iraq." anywhere, and the ministry could assign us or place us to the party that needs us.” In it,” he added, adding that “the ministry cannot transfer us and oppress us in this way.”

One of the demonstrators in the square said: “There is discrimination in the allocation of salaries among employees. We have been employed in the Ministry of Defense for more than three years and we have the right to promote after months, but they are now transferring us to a lower position and with a lower salary," wondering: "Why are new people being hired?" Who is outside the ministry at a time when we are being moved from the place?”

Another protester, who is also an engineer in the Ministry of Defense, expressed his dissatisfaction with the transfer decision, stating that "we are being transferred because there is a surplus in the permanent staffing of the Ministry of Defense. The number of the ministry's employees is 23,000. There was a plan last year to carry out the deletion and creation of the staffing, and there are 19,000.” They stay in the ministry virtually.

He said, "This decision targets a group of people to transfer them and appoint others in their place" within the ministry, adding that the Military Industrialization Authority suffers from disguised unemployment.

The engineer in the Iraqi Ministry of Defense called for their voice to be conveyed to the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani,[/rtl]
