    A member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Sabah Sobhi, attributed, on Tuesday, Iraq's delay in extracting and transporting crude oil to the "exhaustion" of oil fields and pipelines.
    Sobhi said in a statement to the official newspaper, "Attention to the oil sector in the country is a very important issue, since more than 90% of Iraq's imports depend on oil," adding that "the committee discussed more than once the issue of oil extraction, especially since its production capacity is estimated at 2.7 million barrels per day.
    And he continued, "This number does not represent the actual production of Iraq, as its production is close to that of Saudi Arabia, which reaches eight million barrels," noting in the same context that "there is a problem related to the wear and tear of oil fields, wells, and pipelines, in addition to many problems that confront it." The issue of extracting oil in Iraq and transporting it.
