Shafaq News/ The Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, discussed today, Wednesday in Baghdad, with the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, the situation in the country, and the importance of supporting the government in implementing its government program and succeeding in its tasks.
According to a statement by Al-Halbousi's office, during the meeting, important legislation that contributes to resolving outstanding problems between the center and the region was discussed, including the oil and gas law and the federal budget, and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region presented a summary of the discussions that took place between the federal government delegations and the region.
For his part, a statement by Barzani's office stated that the Speaker of Parliament indicated that there is a good opportunity to solve problems between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government, especially those related to the two draft laws for the federal general budget for the year 2023, and federal oil and gas.
For his part, Barzani stressed the importance of resolving outstanding problems, especially the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region and its financial dues from the federal budget, preparing the draft federal oil and gas law, implementing constitutional Article 140, securing the constitutional rights of the Peshmerga forces and implementing the Sinjar Agreement.
