    Shafaq News/ Today, Sunday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority began the USAP-CMA international security audit process at Erbil International Airport, in the presence of the Minister of Interior of Kurdistan Region, Riber Ahmed, and the head of the Aviation Authority, Imad Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the International Audit Team - ICAO.
    On the sidelines of the ceremony announcing the start of this process, the region's interior minister delivered a speech describing this event as "very important," and said that "it is necessary and for the first time in history that an Iraqi airport is included in the schedule of the international audit team."



    He added, "Erbil International Airport will be the first model to be subject to this scrutiny at the level of Iraq," adding, "Fortunately, until now, there has been no security problem at Erbil Airport that our security forces are the cause of its occurrence."


    For his part, the head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Imad al-Asadi, said in a speech during the ceremony: We are happy today with the concerted efforts of all concerned in civil aviation in the country to pass the USAP-CMA international security audit process, and through the international audit team - ICAO, which aims to do so To Iraq's commitment to applying all international standards and obligations with regard to the security and facilities of civil aviation in the country.
    He stressed that the security audit will be a starting point for a promising future for aviation after applying all the recommendations and observations, because of its great impact in attracting foreign arrivals in the country and thus will enhance the reality of economic development in Iraq.


    Yesterday, Saturday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority discussed the necessary preparations for the purpose of starting the USAP-CMA international security audit process, in the presence of the International Audit Team - ICAO, the Director of Civil Aviation Security, the directors of Erbil International Airport and Security, and the Authority's technical team.
    The head of the authority, Imad Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi, said in a statement yesterday: The work is continuing over a period of six months of diligence and perseverance for the purpose of passing the international security audit of the Republic of Iraq (Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority), which will be at Erbil International Airport, starting from Sunday, February 5, for a period of ten days. .
    He explained that Iraq is among 193 countries that will be committed to applying all international security standards, through which it will join the security and facilities of civil aviation in the country according to the vision of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
