    Shafaq News/ The Foreign Relations Committee in the Iraqi Parliament revealed, on Wednesday, how Iraq dealt with Donald Trump after his victory in the US presidential elections, with an arrest warrant issued against him by the country's Supreme Judicial Council on charges of assassinating Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
    Committee member Mukhtar al-Moussawi told Shafaq News Agency, "Trump is a criminal for Iraq and according to Iraqi laws, but Iraq will deal with him normally, as there is an interest for Iraq in that, and Trump's arrival to the White House will not affect relations between Baghdad and Washington," noting that "America is a state of institutions and is not greatly affected by presidents in important foreign dealings."
    Al-Moussawi, a representative of the Coordination Framework, added that "Trump does not recognize the Iraqi government and does not respect the authorities in Iraq," noting that "his visit to Iraq during his previous term was limited to visiting his soldiers at the Ain al-Assad base in Anbar Governorate, but Iraq will deal with Trump normally."
    The member of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee concluded that "if Trump visits Iraq during the next stage, there will be difficulty in executing the arrest warrant against him, as there is an interest for the Iraqi state that comes before all other interests, as it prevents any real implementation of that warrant against Trump."
    It is noteworthy that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani had strongly attacked the administration of former US President Donald Trump, during a speech he gave at a memorial ceremony held in Baghdad in 2023 on the anniversary of the assassination of former Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani and deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in an airstrike near Baghdad International Airport in early 2020.
    The head of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq, Faiq Zidane, also announced the issuance of arrest warrants against Trump over the orders he issued to kill Soleimani and Al-Muhandis.
