    Shafaq News/ Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday his victory in the US presidential elections, stressing that the people granted him a second term.
    "I won a historic victory, and we have regained the majority in the Senate," Trump said in a speech after the initial election results were announced. 
    He pointed out that his election campaign was able to "control both houses of Congress," stressing his determination to "correct the border situation" and "achieve exceptional achievements."
    "We have made history and overcome many obstacles, and this is a political victory unlike anything our country has ever seen before. We thank the American people for giving me this honor by re-electing me," he added.
    Trump confirmed his victory in the swing states and the popular vote, expressing his happiness with this support, saying: "Winning the popular vote reflects the people's love for us."
    Trump announced that he had obtained about 315 votes in the Electoral College, in addition to regaining the majority in the Senate, indicating that he expected to maintain the majority in the House of Representatives as well.
    Trump pledged during his speech, saying: “We have four great years ahead of us, we will do something extraordinary, we will make America the greatest country in the world, and we will secure our borders,” and he continued his pledges, saying: “  I will not start wars, I will end them.”
