This came according to what was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning in response to the ongoing presidential elections in the United States, where she continued: "China will continue to build Sino-US relations with a focus on peaceful and stable coexistence with the United States on the basis of mutual benefit and respect."
Mao Ning also pointed out that the current presidential elections are an internal American political issue, stressing that China "respects any choice of the American people."
