    Economy News - Baghdad
The local government in Anbar Governorate announced today, Wednesday, that the second phase of the electrical connection with Jordan has reached its end, indicating that this project is one of the strategic projects in the governorate.
The representative of TAS Logistics Support Company, Mohammed Jamal Saud, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the cadres of TAS Company for Electrical Projects completed the first phase of the Jordanian-Iraqi link project from Saada station to Rutba district, and the second and third phases were started to connect the line to the city of Al-Qaim according to the required specifications, with a completion rate of 90%."
In turn, the First Deputy Governor of Anbar, Yasser Rashid, explained to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "this project is one of the strategic projects in Anbar Governorate," indicating that "a contract was concluded between the Ministry of Electricity and the Jordanian government, with follow-up by the Anbar government represented by the governor and the governorate's deputies."
Rashid pointed out that "there has been continuous follow-up of the project since its inception, as electricity was connected to the Rutba district, which had suffered from power outages in previous years," noting that "line 400 was withdrawn and fed from the Jordanian Risha station, and electricity was introduced to the line at a rate of 132 megawatts."
He explained that "the second phase will be on the Al-Qaim line, where work has been completed by 90%, and because it is in the final stages of completion, this project will include the 400 line on Al-Qaim, with a capacity of 100 megawatts."
He stressed that "the local government is continuing to follow up on all strategic projects, including electricity, Akkaz, and the combined station located in Heet, and completing the work and connecting with Akkaz via the pipeline, with follow-up by the governor, the relevant ministries, and the central government."
