The Board of Trustees discusses a number of topics related to developing the work of the media network

The Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network congratulated colleague Islam Al-Saadi on being voted in by the Council of Ministers as the sixth member of the Council. While congratulating the Iraqi News Agency on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its founding, it discussed during its 20th regular session yesterday a number of topics on its agenda.
A statement by the Council, received by Al-Sabah, stated, “We congratulate our colleague Islam Al-Saadi on being voted in by the Council of Ministers as the sixth member of the Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network, wishing her every success in performing her duties to advance the Iraqi Media Network in the service of the public interest.”
The Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network also extended its warmest congratulations to the venerable Iraqi News Agency on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its founding, which the Board views as a cornerstone of the national media system.
Another statement by the Council stated that "this occasion is a celebration of the history of a journalistic institution, and it is also a reminder of our collective responsibility to consolidate the vital role of the media in building Iraq, by providing accurate, responsible and independent information to the honorable public." The Council stated that "the Iraqi News Agency, as an essential part of the Iraqi Media Network, has proven its ability to embody its message and provide reliable news, in line with the objectives of the Public Broadcasting Service, which is committed to providing a free and comprehensive platform that meets the needs of the Iraqi people throughout the country," stressing "its pride in every effort made by colleagues working in the Iraqi News Agency, appreciating the support provided to it by the Presidency of the Iraqi Media Network, and renewing its support for its development in a way that enables it to remain in the position of national leadership."
In addition, the Board of Trustees held its 20th regular session yesterday, Tuesday, in Nasrallah Hall in Baghdad, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board Thaer Al-Ghanimi, the Vice Chairman of the Board Sanaa Saeed, the Board Member Awsam Majed Ghanem, and the Board Member Alan Abdullah.
The Council discussed, according to a statement received by Al-Sabah, a number of topics on its agenda, where it reviewed the report submitted to it by the Complaints Receiving Committee, and decided to take the necessary measures regarding it. The Council also listened to a detailed report on the visit of Council member Awsam Majed Ghanem to the central and southern governorates, and the most important observations on the work of the network’s offices there, and the necessary recommendations to improve its reality and enhance its performance.
The statement indicated that, "In light of the reports of the Board of Trustees' Drama Scripts Examination Committee, the Board voted unanimously to approve the script of "Iraqi Rest Stop" after taking into account the amendments included in the examination reports. The Board also listened to a detailed explanation of the work of the Marketing and Governorate Newspapers departments in Al Sabah newspaper, and the most important ideas for developing work in them."
The statement explained that "the council hosted the head of the network, Karim Hammadi, the director of the Legal Affairs Directorate, Asmaa Muhammad Amin, the director of the Iraqi News Agency, Sattar Jihad Al-Ardawi, the head of the distribution department at Al-Sabah newspaper, Muhammad Eidan, and the head of the governorate newspapers department at Al-Sabah newspaper, Jalal Hadi Al-Kaabi."
