    Shafaq News/ The Axios website reported, quoting American and Israeli officials, that the United States is making intensive diplomatic efforts with the Iraqi government with the aim of preventing Iran from carrying out a possible attack on Israel through Iraqi territory. 
    Axios reported that US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Antony Blinken contacted Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to discuss this potential threat, and pressured him to stop attacks by Iranian-backed militias against US forces stationed in Iraq.
    Sullivan and Blinken informed Sudan of the need not to allow Iraqi territory to be used as a launching point for attacks on Israel. In this context, Washington warned Baghdad of the possibility of Israel carrying out attacks in Iraq if the Iraqi government does not take measures to prevent these attacks.
    Reports also indicated that US and Israeli intelligence had monitored the Iranian Revolutionary Guard transferring drones and missiles to Shiite militias in Iraq, which raises fears of escalating tensions in the region.
    Despite public and private warnings from Washington to Tehran, US officials have stressed that Iran has not yet shown any willingness to de-escalate or halt its actions.
