    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Retired Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Tamimi identified , today, Wednesday (November 6, 2024),  3 challenges posed by Trump's arrival to the White House and their effects on Iraq.
Al-Tamimi said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "Trump has become the most likely to reach the White House in light of the data provided by the American media about the election results in the so-called swing states, and thus announcing his victory is just a matter of time according to all the news analyses received so far."
He added, "Iraq had a bitter experience with Trump, and he is known by Iraqi politicians that his actions and decisions cannot be predicted, so his arrival to the White House will inevitably impose changes in American policy in general in light of the chaos caused at the international and regional levels by Donald's administration, which pushed the world to the brink of World War III."
He pointed out that "Trump, in all the promises he made regarding ending the Ukrainian conflict and reaching the issues of the Middle East, will be more supportive of the occupying entity, meaning that there will be proposals that stand with Tel Aviv, and this is what increases the tension even more despite everything he said about solving the problems of the Middle East. Let us not forget that he is the one who decided to move his country's embassy to Jerusalem, a decision that provoked the resentment of the Arab and Islamic street alike."
Ban explained that "there are three challenges posed by Trump's arrival to the White House, the most prominent of which is security, because he may enter into a direct conflict with the Iraqi factions and return to the policy of remote assassinations or financial and economic sanctions, which are very harmful to Baghdad in order to force it to comply with Washington's policy, in addition to the fact that he will increase the pressure on Tehran, starting from Iraq and in different ways."
Fox News announced on Wednesday morning that Republican candidate Donald Trump had won the presidential election, becoming the only major American media outlet to do so, after predicting his victory in the key states of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
"Donald Trump elected next president of the United States," Fox News wrote on its website's home page.
