    Baghdad Today - Basra
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani announced today, Thursday (November 7, 2024), the receipt of the five berths that represent the backbone of Al-Faw Port.
Al-Sudani said in a speech during the receipt of the five berths of the Grand Faw Port from the Korean company implementing the work, which was followed by "Baghdad Today", that "today we reap the fruits of the effort and follow-up to proceed with the project of Iraq and the people, the Grand Faw Port", adding that "we announce the receipt of the five berths that represent the backbone of the Faw Port".
He explained that "development and economic transformation are an integrated approach, and today we are facing a new Iraq that begins from the Grand Faw Port," stressing that "Iraq was and still is a fundamental pillar in the global economy."
He continued: "We adhered to the goal of completing the project, as it is a gateway to the larger Iraqi project, the path of development, and the main nerve in the government's vision to maximize non-oil revenues, along with the industrial cities that will be established alongside the two projects," stressing that "the General Company for Iraqi Ports has made significant progress in drawing up the correct policy for managing the Grand Faw Port."
He stressed that "the world's largest operators have been introduced, and the most appropriate and attractive economic model for trade exchange will be chosen," stressing that "our approach is fixed in serving our people with every plan, and in a way that guarantees future generations job opportunities, development in industry and production, transporting goods, developing agriculture, and facilitating exchange through this international corridor."
