The Ministry of Culture announced today, Wednesday, the continuation of communications with the Ministry of Finance to launch a grant for journalists, writers and artists, while indicating that the grant will be launched before the end of 2024.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Culture, Ahmed Al-Aliawi, said, "The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Antiquities has completed the necessary preparations to launch the journalists' grant for the covered entities by providing databases and special cards for disbursement through the outlets available in all governorates."
He added: "We are waiting for the grant to be funded through the Ministry of Finance, and we have ongoing communications with the ministry to provide the necessary funds for the grant."
He pointed out that "as soon as the amount reaches us from the Ministry of Finance, the grant will be launched," indicating that "the reason for delaying the launch of the grant until now is the failure of the Ministry of Finance to disburse the amounts, and we hope to provide them before the end of 2024."
