The Health and Environment Committee in the House of Representatives registered 28 suspicions of corruption in files that cost billions of dinars in the Diwaniyah Health Department, and announced that they were referred to the competent authorities to take legal action in this regard.
Committee member Bassem Al-Gharabi told Al-Sabah that the oversight efforts undertaken by his office resulted in the referral of 28 suspicions of corruption worth billions of dinars in the Diwaniyah Health Department to the competent authorities.
He pointed out that there are other suspicions of corruption in the department that are still under investigation, some of which are related to the prices of medicines and other materials, stressing that the Ministry of Health recommended its administrative investigation in this regard to include, warn and hold all those involved accountable after about six months of personally following up on these files.
He noted the existence of challenges accompanying the preparation of corruption files, which amounted to preventing his office employees from entering the Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital to perform their duties, stressing the existence of files of suspicions of corruption belonging to a number of government departments in the Diwaniyah governorate, which will be disclosed during the coming period.
Al-Gharabi described the environmental reality in Diwaniyah as deteriorating due to natural challenges, including water scarcity, which increased desertification, and other challenges represented in the weakness of treatments for many transgressions, such as returning sewage water to the Shatt al-Diwaniyah without treating it, which causes serious diseases, hoping that Iraq will happen during its participation in the conference. Emirates Environment supports the implementation of large projects in the governorates related to improving the environmental reality, especially clean energy supply projects.
