    An oil field in Iraq[/rtl]

    [rtl]Rudaw Digital[/rtl]

[rtl]A member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee in the Iraqi parliament, Zainab al-Moussawi, stressed the importance of enacting the federal oil and gas law, warning that not approving it would cause major problems.[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Moussawi told Rudaw Media Network, Friday (February 24, 2023), that "the draft oil and gas law is important, and it will solve many issues. We in the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee affirm by all members, as well as the head of the committee, Hibat al-Halbousi, on the enactment of the law, since it was not approved." It may cause major problems, especially with regard to the financial budget."[/rtl]

[rtl]With regard to the date for approving the project and converting it into a continuing law, the parliamentarian explained that "the approval of the law is linked to politics more than its physical competence, and the political situation in the current fifth parliamentary session is very ready for the approval of the oil and gas law, which is expected to be passed after the approval of the general financial budget for the year 2023."[/rtl]

[rtl]And she added, "The issue of the draft oil and gas law will be resolved in the coming days, to become an official law between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad."[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Moussawi stressed that what is hindering the progress of the approval process is "a political problem, not an administrative one, between Erbil and Baghdad, and that the existing political agreements between the two parties will resolve this issue in the coming days," noting that "there are no points of contention between Erbil and Baghdad about the draft law, there are minor differences." It will be solved, Iraq is one and its oil is for all the people.”[/rtl]

[rtl]Zainab al-Moussawi told Rudaw that "the existing system and the draft law will be approved by the House of Representatives, to then be directed to the central government, and then all political agreements will be placed at one table, whether it is from the Kurdish or Sunni brothers or from Basra, all of them will sit at one table for a solution." Problems and the adoption of the oil and gas law for the benefit of all sects of the Iraqi people."[/rtl]

[rtl]The delegation representing the Kurdistan Regional Government arrived a few days ago in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to continue discussions between it and the federal government on joint files, the first of which is the draft oil and gas law and the approval of the general budget for the current year. The correspondent of Rudaw Media Network in Baghdad, Helkut Aziz, reported that the Iraqi government had given assurances to the delegation of the Kurdistan Region on this issue.[/rtl]
