The US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina L. Romanowski, focused on three pieces of legislation in a meeting with First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Muhsin al-Mandalawi.

Romanowski said in a tweet followed by "Nass" (February 27, 2023), that she "discussed with the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, the parliament's agenda for the current legislative term and important legislation to support the Iraqi people, including the budget, elections and human rights."
For his part, the head of the Alwan Organization belonging to the coordination framework, Haider Al-Barzanji, denounced the US ambassador's tweet, saying:
"Do all ambassadors discuss the budget and what is the future of the strategy of laws? What is the capacity and how does it allow that? Brother First Deputy, it is shameful to remain silent on such statements that are a clear violation of sovereignty and the legislative institution. It is necessary for the ambassador to learn her basic mission."
