Iraq ranked second in terms of the percentage of women's unemployment among the Arab countries.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Planning for the year 2022, "the unemployment rate for women in Iraq amounted to 28.2%, which is double the unemployment rate for males in Iraq, which amounted to 14.7%."
As for the Arab countries, according to the statistics available to the statistical departments of these countries and recorded by the Bloomberg East Agency, “Jordan had the highest unemployment rate among women among the Arab countries, at 31.7%, and Saudi Arabia came third with an unemployment rate of 20.5%. Unemployment among women was recorded in Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco, Percentages ranged from 20.1%, 19.3%, and 18.8%, respectively, while in Bahrain this percentage drops to about 10%.
And the Ministry of Planning announced in July 2022 the unemployment rate in Iraq, which amounted to 16.5%, which is interpreted as one unemployed person for every five people in the labor force.
