    Baghdad today - Baghdad
A source close to the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, revealed today, Friday, that Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani asked Barzani for details of the oil contracts concluded with the region, while indicating that the latter refused the request.
The source told (Baghdad Today) that "Al-Sudani asked, during his visit to Erbil yesterday and in a separate meeting with the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, accurate details about all the oil contracts signed between Kurdistan and other countries, the most important of which is Turkey, in his capacity as the person responsible - that is, Nechirvan - for signing and concluding all those contracts." When he was head of government in the region.
The source, who preferred not to be named, added that "Al-Sudani also requested that from the head of the regional government, Masrour Barzani, during a meeting with him," noting that "the request seemed difficult for him."
The source confirmed that "Nechirvan rejected this request, as it would reveal major corruption operations if the details of the contracts were revealed," noting that "therefore, Al-Sudani confirmed his request during his meeting with Masrour Barzani."
And in (May 2022) the National Oil Company issued a statement about the contracts and agreements signed in the Kurdistan region.
The company stated that the competence of the federal government in managing the current fields does not negate its lack of competence in managing the fields that will be discovered in the future, indicating that any region’s action to conclude oil contracts and agreements with international companies and countries to export oil and extracted gas violates the provisions of the constitution, because the competence of the federal government is to draw up a policy Developing oil and gas and managing the activity related to them, and specializing in foreign trade.
