    Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder confirmed the United States' determination to intensify its military deployment in the region to maintain the security of Gulf waters and the Strait of Hormuz, referring to American efforts to deter destructive Iranian activities in the region.

    "We believe that the increased military deployment of the United States and its allies and partners in the region has a deterrent effect on Iran's malign activities," Ryder told a news conference, referring to the increase in US forces and military equipment in the region.  
      
    The Pentagon spokesman added: "We hope that the malign Iranian activities will recede, but it depends on Tehran in the end. In the meantime, the United States will do everything in its power to ensure that the security and stability of the region and the movement of commercial ships in it are not disturbed."  
      
    Before that, the spokesman for the Fifth Fleet of the US Navy, Tim Hawkins, referred to the increasing danger of Iranian forces seizing ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and confirmed the US intention to increase its military presence in this waterway.  
      
    And last Sunday, the Western-backed navies in the Middle East, led by the United States, warned ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to avoid Iranian waters as much as possible because they might be stopped.  
      
    On the other hand, the US Fifth Fleet announced, on August 6, that more than 3,000 American sailors had arrived in the Middle East, as part of a plan to strengthen the military presence in the region, and to "deter Iran" from seizing ships and oil tankers.  
      
    A few days earlier, US officials told the media that the Pentagon was considering deploying its military forces on commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to counter Iran's threats.

    I suspected this show of force was influenced by Iran. In another article I read, the US indicated it had to do with keeping ISIS under control. I’m sure that’s true and part of the grand plan. However, my theory is that they received intelligence that Iran was planning something nefarious.
