head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna al-Samarrai, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed cooperation between the two countries.
Al-Samarrai's office stated in a statement, which Mawazine News received a copy of, that "the latter met with the Turkish Foreign Minister during his visit to Baghdad today, Wednesday, and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples."
During the meeting, Al-Samarrai stressed "the importance of transferring files of common interest between the two neighboring countries to an effective stage of bilateral cooperation, on top of which are security problems in the border areas, with the aim of enhancing stability and security for the region, in light of the escalating regional and international conditions."
