A statement by the Office of Abdul-Mahdi, that the Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi received Turkish [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/834/%D9%88%D8%B2%D9%8A%D8%B1 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%AC%D9%8A%D8%A9]Foreign Minister[/url] Mouloud Javishoglu, indicating that at the beginning of the meeting congratulated Oglu Abdul-Mahdi on behalf of the Turkish government on the occasion of his mandate to form the Iraqi government, wishing him success.
The statement added that during the meeting, they discussed enhancing relations between the two countries in various fields and working to resolve the outstanding issues, especially in the field of water and other fields, in addition to discussing the situation in the region.
The statement quoted Abdul-Mahdi as saying that Iraq entered a new phase after winning the terrorism is reconstruction and this requires the support of the international community to him, noting that there are distinct relations with neighboring Turkey and we will work to strengthen them in the interest of the two neighboring peoples.
For his part, Oglu stressed Turkey's support for Iraq in all fields, and the continuous work to strengthen relations between Ankara and Baghdad and his country's readiness to work together to resolve outstanding issues.
