{Politics: Al-Furat News} The Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, received, this Wednesday morning, the CEO of the American company Stellar Energy, Peter Gibson.
According to a statement from his office, a copy of which was received by Al-Furat News, Al-Sudani reviewed, “a presentation of the projects undertaken by the company within the electricity sector, and an emphasis on the government’s interest in expanding combined cycle projects in the electrical energy production sector, which constitutes an important priority in the service and development program.”
Al-Sudani also stated that the government’s approach includes providing more facilities to major companies working in the field of electricity and energy, as it is a vital field on which other economic and service sectors depend.
For his part, Gibson renewed his company's determination and pledge to fulfill its obligations with Iraq, and to work to increase production and improve transportation and distribution networks, in proportion to the increase in loads and demand for electrical energy.
