Today, Wednesday (September 13, 2023), one of the auditors revealed a major case of “corruption” practiced by one of the Iraqi banks accredited to the Central Bank of Iraq regarding the mechanism for exchanging the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.
According to what the auditor told Baghdad Today Agency, he visited one of the banks accredited to the Central Bank of Iraq for the purpose of converting a deposit of an amount in Iraqi dinars to dollars on a special “Visa” card that he uses for websites and promoting social networking sites, but he was shocked by the conversion process in exchanging the dinar. Iraqi against the dollar.
He pointed out that the exchange rate is not according to the official rate approved by the Iraqi Central Bank, which is (132.20 thousand Iraqi dinars per 100 dollars), but rather it is (151 thousand dinars per 100 US dollars), in addition to taking a commission of “one thousand Iraqi dinars” for every 100 thousand Iraqi dinars.” .
