Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed that “Some sides practice systematic marginalization against the electoral (Citizen Coalition),” calling the Coalition’s nominees to “focus on their electoral programme.”
A statement by the SIIC quoted Hakim as saying on Wednesday “The nominees of the Shaheed al-Mihrab Trend and those affiliated to them within the Citizen Coalition should forebear their rivals’ defame endeavors through keeping contact with the Iraqi people and familiarize them with their electoral agendas,” describing targeting the Citizen Coalition as “An evidence for the Coalition’s success.”
Hakim called on “The Citizen Coalition’s nominees to avoid being drifted or listening to the defame attempts against them and their electoral programme,” stressing that “These cheap schemes are lame approaches.”
He noted that the “Iraqi people will evaluate the right and say their word at the Ballot boxes of the upcoming local elections.”
