Ali Shaddad, a member of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, revealed today, Thursday, that there are government moves to resume the export of crude oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, while pointing out that Iraq is obligated to export the quantities agreed upon with OPEC. Shaddad said in a statement received by Mawazine News, “The Iraqi government is conducting a series of internal and external discussions with Kurdistan and Turkey to resume the export of Iraqi oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan,” pointing out that “these discussions have reached advanced results.” He added, “The government
has reached advanced results.”
The Federal Government has reached final understandings with the oil companies operating in the Kurdistan region, in addition to receiving notification from the Turkish side that it has completed its preparations to receive Iraqi oil after maintenance operations on oil transport pipelines continued for months due to the earthquake that struck Turkey recently.
