{Politics: Al-Furat News} The Election Commission pledged today, Thursday, to ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process for the provincial councils scheduled for December 18, 2023.
Imad Jamil, director of the media team for the Election Commission, told Al-Furat News Agency, “There will be surveillance cameras distributed across all electoral stations that will record events from the start of the voting process until the end of the voting period. Their data will be sent via the memory device to the National Center and will be used after registering any complaint at the station.” mentioned.”
He added, "There will also be manual and electronic counting and sorting, with the results arriving at the stations within 6 hours, that is, from the start of the voting process until 6 p.m., and the results will be announced within 24 hours."
Jamil stressed that "the elections will be fair."
In a related context, the Independent High Electoral Commission invited all media outlets and representatives of political parties and alliances and civil society organizations to attend and cover the electronic lottery process for selecting polling officials next Sunday at eleven o’clock in the morning at the Al-Mansour Al-Milia Hotel in Baghdad.
