Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Alia Nassif, confirmed on Monday the involvement of Kuwaiti, Emirati, and Jordanian banks in the dollar crisis in Iraq, noting that the Central Bank of Iraq violated the terms of the contract with the banks and granted them sovereignty over the transfer of the dollar abroad.
Nassif said in a statement followed by Al-Masala, “The Parliamentary Integrity Committee, specifically the mini-committee, hosted the Governor of the Central Bank, Ali Al-Alaq, where it held extensive discussions with him about the waste of public money.”
She added, “The committee found, after research and scrutiny, legal violations in the Central Bank’s partnership contracts with Jordanian, Emirati, and Kuwaiti banks and banks, as the percentage of participation in those banks and banks was 51%, meaning that the decision is in the hands of those banks and banks.”
She explained that “this percentage gave her the legitimacy to transfer millions abroad, which caused the destruction of the Iraqi economy,” stressing that “the Integrity Committee will present this important and dangerous file to the House of Representatives in the coming days.”
