    {Local: Al-Furat News} The Parliamentary Services Committee confirmed today, Monday, that all new complexes and cities are subject to the committee’s oversight.

    Committee member, Baqir Al-Saadi, told Al-Furat News: “The construction of new cities and residential complexes is according to a plan to address the minting crisis, and all of them are subject to the supervision of the Parliamentary Services Committee.”
    He added, "The companies that decide on the projects are followed up and held accountable."
    Al-Saadi indicated, "Work has begun to build cities and residential complexes in Baghdad and the provinces."
    He noted that "the Ministry of Construction's share in the budget is large to provide its services and complete its projects in all governorates."
    To resolve the housing crisis in Baghdad and the provinces.. the Prime Minister’s Office announced, in June, the approval of the Declaration of Investment Opportunities for New Residential Cities, during Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani’s presidency of a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Investment and Reconstruction, the first since the committee was reactivated, during which the Declaration of Investment Opportunities was approved. For new residential cities that included the following projects:
    New Al-Jawahiri City in Baghdad/Abu Ghraib Governorate, New Banks of Karbala City in Karbala Governorate, New Fallujah City in Anbar Governorate, New Al-Janain City in Babil Governorate, and New Al-Ghazlani City in Nineveh Governorate.
    The Investment Authority also launched a plan to build new residential cities in 15 governorates, in order to control their prices.
