Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hayyan Abdul Ghani, announced today, Monday (November 6, 2023), the imminent opening of the Azmara unit and the fourth refining unit in the southern refineries.
Abdul Ghani explained in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "This unit will produce jet and black oil, in addition to producing 3,000 cubic meters of gas oil as well as 163 tons of (lbg). This will enhance Iraq's position in white products . "
The minister pointed out that "the contract to open the fourth refining unit has been delayed since 2016, and the South Oil Company took the initiative to sign a contract with the subcontractors to complete the project."
