    The Presidency of the Iraqi Parliament decided to cancel a decision issued earlier, today, Wednesday, to strip Muhammad Al-Halbousi of his protection team, and described the canceled decision as an “individual act.”[/size]
    [size=45]Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, said in a brief statement that the Presidency of Parliament decided to cancel the decision book containing the termination of protection contracts for Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi, which was issued at the sole discretion of the Director General of the Department of Administrative Affairs, Falah Matrud.[/size]
    [size=45]Abdullah stated that the Presidency of Parliament decided to form an investigation committee into the matter, and to take the maximum punishment against this director.[/size]
    [size=45]Earlier today, Parliament issued a Court Order No. 6921, which stated, “For the requirements of the work interest and based on the decision of the Federal Supreme Court No. 9/Federal/2023 4 11/14/2023, it was decided to terminate the contracts of the protection crew of Muhammad Raykan Al-Halbousi, Chairman of the Council.” Representatives for the (fifth parliamentary) session, starting from 11/14/2023.[/size]
    [size=45]Yesterday, Tuesday, the Federal Supreme Court, which is the highest judicial authority in Iraq, decided to terminate the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, based on a “forgery” lawsuit filed by Representative Laith al-Dulaimi.[/size]
    [size=45]The trial began last February before the Federal Supreme Court, after a complaint filed by Representative Laith Al-Dulaimi. Al-Dulaimi accused the Speaker of Parliament of “forging” the date of a previously submitted resignation request in his name, with the aim of expelling him from Parliament.[/size]
    [size=45]Following the issuance of the court’s decision, Al-Halbousi said in his speech during the House of Representatives session, “There are those who seek to fragment the political components of society.”[/size]
