Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: A political source in the Taqadum coalition revealed that the leaders of the coalition and the party acquiesced to the decision of the Federal Supreme Court regarding the dismissal of its leader and Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi, stressing that Taqadum is preparing to present an alternative to Al-Halbousi during the coming period.
The source said, “The Taqaddum Alliance is preparing to present an alternative candidate to Al-Halbousi for the position of Speaker of Parliament from among its members, and will not accept that the position go to any other political party.”
He added, “There are many personalities capable of assuming the position of Speaker of Parliament from among the Taqaddam coalition, and therefore in the coming period there will be a candidate for the position with the support of Al-Halbousi himself.”
He explained, “The advanced ministers who have resigned from the government will return to their positions when the appropriate conditions are created to return things to normal.”
Former Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi arrived in Anbar Governorate yesterday, Friday, while he attended an electoral conference for his candidates in the Saqlawiyah district, during which he delivered a speech guaranteeing that the decision to remove him would not be met with violence, chaos, demonstrations, etc., calling for active participation in the local elections.
