    The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) announced on its website, on Wednesday evening, that representatives of 8 military education institutions in Iraq visited the alliance’s headquarters in Brussels, on the 12th and 13th of December, as part of an annual review of their related programs. Military education that falls within the context of the Alliance’s “Defense Education Enhancement Program” (DEEP).[/size]
    [size=45]The alliance stated in its report that the Iraqi delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Aqeel Mustafa Mahdi Al-Rammah, who is the head of the Iraqi Defense University for Military Studies.[/size]
    [size=45]He added that Assistant Secretary-General for NATO Operations, Tom Govus, welcomed the Iraqi staff team, and stressed the importance of the partnership that achieves mutual benefit between Iraq and NATO, and the importance of continuing cooperation to strengthen the Iraqi security forces.[/size]
    [size=45]The report explained that the visiting Iraqi delegation exchanged views with members of the NATO international team and the NATO mission in Iraq, and with specialized experts from allied countries.[/size]
    [size=45]He continued that the progress made in achieving the goals related to military education that were set in the year 2022 was evaluated. The activities that were carried out in this field in the year 2023 were also reviewed, and it was agreed to develop the goals for the year 2024 and beyond.[/size]
    [size=45]The report quoted Lieutenant General Aqeel as emphasizing the importance of conducting this evaluation on a regular basis, adding that NATO’s “Defense Education Enhancement Programme” represents an effective and reliable partner in supporting the Iraqi Defense University with the aim of achieving further improvement and development.[/size]
