    Information/Baghdad..
With the anticipation of Parliament holding its special session to elect the new Speaker of the House of Representatives to succeed the ousted Muhammad Al-Halbousi, attention is turning towards the coordination framework with an absolute parliamentary majority to have the final say in choosing the next Speaker of Parliament.

A member of the State of Law coalition, Omran Karkush, confirms that Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani is the closest to assuming the position of Speaker of Parliament, indicating that Al-Mashhadani enjoys high acceptance among the majority of political parties and forces.
Karkush said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “The coordination framework set important criteria for the candidate, the most prominent of which is that his role be effective in legislating laws and protecting the interests of Iraqis.”
He added, "If the Sunni forces are unable to choose a new president, the majority will choose a new speaker for Parliament."
    Insinuation of postponement or majority
The representative of the coordination framework, Moin Al-Kadhimi, hinted at postponing the session on choosing the Speaker of Parliament, indicating that the Sunni blocs are divided among themselves in choosing a new Speaker of Parliament.

Al-Kadhimi said in a televised interview followed by Al-Maalouma: “The Sunni blocs believe that the next speaker of parliament will be a Sunni leader, and that postponing the parliament session tomorrow is possible.”
He added, "The next speaker of parliament must have specifications that satisfy the Shiite framework and other political blocs," noting that "if the Sunni blocs are unable to choose a new president, the decision will be up to the parliamentary majority in the House of Representatives."
Al-Kadhimi pointed out that "the existing candidates are known for their positive and negative paths during their political careers, and they will be screened in the corridors of politics."
Meanwhile, on Saturday, a person close to the Taqadum Party revealed the scenes behind the scenes of the last meeting of Sunni leaders, which ended in a quarrel and insults between the ousted Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and other Sunni leaders.
Abdul Ahmed Al-Razzaq Al-Dulaimi said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “The meeting of the Taqaddum Party and leaders of the Sovereignty and Determination Party witnessed verbal altercations and disagreements over the mechanism for nominating an alternative to the ousted President Muhammad Al-Halbousi, as Al-Halbousi insisted on nominating the controversial figure, “Shalan Al-Karim,” while the Sunni blocs insisted. On the nomination of Salem Matar Al-Issawi to fill the position to succeed the ousted President Muhammad Al-Halbousi.
Al-Dulaimi added, “The mechanism for nominating an alternative figure to the ousted president created a rift in the relations between party and tribal leaders after Al-Halbousi insisted that the alternative should be chosen by him without consulting the rest of the Sunni parties.”

He continued, "A number of party leaders object to authorizing Al-Halbousi and Al-Khanjar to nominate figures they deem acceptable to fill the position, while the other party objects to the authorization mechanism as a confiscation of voters' votes and the process of silencing the mouths of those calling for change and rejecting the nomination names as they came from a person wanted on charges of dishonor."
He stressed that "some figures failed to bring the views of the two parties closer together amid threats to withdraw from the Progress Alliance if they insist on following the instructions of the ousted president."
Al-Halbousi returns to the forgery game
In addition, an official source in Anbar Governorate reported that the ousted Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, falsified the websites of MPs and published them on social media to support the nomination of Shaalan Al-Karim for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
The source said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency: “Representative Nihal Al-Shammari denied signing a request submitted by the Taqaddam Party, led by ousted President Muhammad Al-Halbousi, regarding the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, scheduled to be held late this night, Saturday.”

The source added, “The Taqadum Party promoted news that it had obtained the signatures of more than 40 deputies to nominate Shalan Al-Karim for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, succeeding the ousted President Muhammad Al-Halbousi.”
He pointed out that "the signature of some representatives was forged, similar to the case of the signature of former MP Laith Al-Dulaimi," explaining that "the inclusion of the name of Al-Karim, the controversial figure, met with objection from a large number of Sunni representatives, but Al-Halbousi threatened to punish his representatives if they did not submit to his directives," stressing that "he denied... Al-Shammari’s signing of a document nominating Shaalan Al-Karim for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives put Al-Halbousi in a very awkward position.” End25
