The leader of the Taqaddum Party, Anwar Al-Alwani, revealed that the party is planning to support its leader, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, to obtain the presidency or ministerial position during the next stage.
Al-Alwani said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News: “Selling votes and buying debts is selling conscience and cannot be tolerated.”
He added, "The votes of Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and Salem Al-Issawi do not together reach the number reached by Shaalan Al-Karim."
He pointed out that "Al-Halbousi will not return to the presidency of Parliament even if the Federal Court issues a decision for his return, while we plan for Al-Halbousi to be President of the Republic or Prime Minister."
